Flic Homekit
-
I have a black Flic 2 button. It was working fine connected to the hub and HomeKit. I deleted it from Flic APP and subsequently HomeKit. I added it back, it shows up in Home but won't let me assign any functions - it keeps showing 'Could not change settings'.
I've done everything Flic suggested, remove battery, hold button for 10 seconds to restart it - removed from bluetooth.
If I add it and not use it with HomeKit - it works fine and can be programmed.
It's like HomeKit has some cache that remembers the button ID and while it does add it - I just can't program it anymore.
Anyone with ideas?
All of my other buttons work fine with HomeKit.

@samjay I had the same issue, I removed the hub from Apple Home, then reset the Flic Hub, then went through the entire process of setting up the hub and then setting up the Flic button. It now works as expected.

@samjay Hi!
Very sorry to hear this. Unfortunately this seems to be somewhat common with our HomeKit users, as you describe it seems that HomeKit does not realize something has changed.
The only way to completely re-do the HomeKit pairing from scratch is unfortunately to factory reset the Flic Hub. This makes it appear as a new device to HomeKit and hopefully into a working state.
To do this, locate the pinhole button underneath the LED on the back of the Flic Hub. Press Using a pin or needle, press and hold this button for 10-15 seconds. The LED should blink to indicate that it is rebooting.
Remove the Hub from the Flic app by pressing and holding on the Hub icon. Now re-add your hub and button and enable HomeKit for the button.
If you have performed all these steps and you still can't find your button, we strongly encourage you to file a bug report with Apple so that we can escalate this issue.
