Hacking the flic hub
-
Is there a walkthrough or readme on how to access the underlying linux system on the flic hub?
From the indiegogo campaign:
"If you know what you’re doing, you’ll recognize the structure of the Flic Hub. It’s basically an advanced Linux computer, much like a better-looking Raspberry Pi, with a two separate Bluetooth controllers (yep, two) for increased stability, excellent connectivity features and brilliant design. And yes, you can hack it as you please."The only reason I bought this was because it was marketed as customizable, but so far I am stumped.
nmap shows it registers itself as flic.lan, but the only open port is 53 (typically for DNS).

@macopoulos we released the hub sdk a few years ago. You can find it here: https://flic.io/flic-hub-sdk

Ok so..
@Emil it's been exactly 3 years, since your last reply about the sdk.
You may reconsider that sdk because we really want it.
I'm holding back on any new products, i've got the hub and 4 buttons. If the sdk isn't released, i'll just throw them away and find something better to do.
I'm not going to say about disappointment, it's product engagement that you wanted, we hopped since Kickstarter onto your products, you didn't deliver the footnote.

Oh, forgot I made this post... almost 2 years ago. Oh well. Guess I'll get the same lame non-answers as before.
https://community.flic.io/topic/17966/flic-hub-sdk for reference in case I forget again.

@Emil Really? This is the exact reason why I just backed your new campaign... I was told that it wasn't going to happen. And it's why I backed the initial campaign, because it was promised.
I'm confused and a bit bummed. I'll keep my pledge open, because I actually still believe in your product in general, and was interested in the updated button - but man, y'all could have been a HEAP more transparent about this. -
@tonsit We still have the plans to release it, it's just that we got quite busy right now with the new products.

When trying to reply, even the forum knows my post was old! It asked me if I wanted to make a new topic. Sad that I'm still waiting for this feature.
What is going on with this?
Now you guys are launching new products without ever fulfilling promises on the original hub. Should I throw my original hub away and give you even more money to get the features you promised? That's not very likely. In fact, I'm probably never going to buy another flic product again.
This was a major feature to me, it was the primary reason I supported the flic hub. Talk about disappointing.

@emil You guys have been giving same under development status for so long now. Any chance you can provide more details on what is holding up the SDK, how far along you might be, when you hope to get it out.

@tonsit we are working on a hub sdk which lets you do custom stuff, but it's not ready yet
