does this only work with 1 flic?
-
The latest version of the app has built in support for multiple Flics.

I have my macbook pro running with multiple flic buttons connected. You simply launch multiple instances of the flic mac app via terminal and tie them each independently. I have tried it with 5 buttons, no issues. Different applescripts or automator workflows tied to each. I pushed it for a few hours and it worked flawlessly.

It might make sense to deliver the next version with some sample applescripts so users can
trigger sounds, trigger an IFTTT event etc. Might make it a bit more friendly for beginners.Happy to provide them if needed.

Hi, Just to say I have just ordered a set of four buttons because of the mac support (I know only one button is supported at present) - ultimately requiring a phone in the vicinity is no good for me.... how would a doorbell work if you are out?
But I always have a server running so take my money!
Hehe, cool And yes, I agree, using your phone does not make sense for a lot of use cases. I just wanted to post an update and say that we are working as hard we can to get the official Mac app released. It will obviously support multiple buttons. As I mentioned earlier, if you need multiple button support at this time then you are welcome to build something on your own using flic-service-osx.

If anyone wants to create their own application with support for multiple Flics then you can take a look at flic-service-osx

@mgerards Thanks! We will definitely add support for multiple buttons. We will think about how we can best add the other services to the mac app while still keeping the simplicity and the ability to create your own scripts.

Although I've been supporting the flic-concept from the first Kickstarter on, I had trouble finding useful applications for the buttons once they arrived (this has changed a bit since the last firmware update, making them more useful with IOS).
The Mac app however, has become a hit around the office instantly. We connect/disconnect our Network & USB drives with Flic now, that's saving us lots of clicks during workdays.
Please support this further (with multiple buttons) while keeping it as simple as it is! I assume we're going to get the whole bunch of services (especially Zapier) on the Mac, too?

Just want to say this app is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
I am really looking forward to multiple support as well. I have 8 buttons sitting in a box waiting to be lined up and used for all sorts of things!

Ok, so I will rephrase my previous answer We will add support for multiple buttons as soon as possible. Launching the first release with only a single button was just so that we could release it quicker

The current version unfortunately only supports one Flic. Adding support for multiple buttons is of course of high priority for upcoming versions. We will asses, depending on the response we get on this project, how soon we will continue the development work.
I love this but limiting to 1 Flic equates to a Proof of Concept and I think maybe you have already proved that.
I can confirm this launches scripts. You have just obsoleted my bt.tn. If I press the flic between 6 and 7pm on a Friday it orders Pizza, sticks on some old skool, and colour pulses the lights !
The Flic form factor lends them to pervasive use and so to really test the Mac possibilities from my POV would need support for multiple buttons.
